Boba 3G Carrier Review + Discount

I’ve talked about my love for baby wearing many a times on the blog, so I’m excited to bring you another review post about a carrier that I had been dying to try out – the Boba 3G Carrier. Monkey pretty much lived in the Boba wrap (formerly Sleepy Wrap) when he was itty bitty – until he was around 3 or 4 months old. I wore him that way for all walks, outings, and most of his naps. It was seriously a life savor and worth it’s weight in gold. Actually, probably more than it’s weight because it doesn’t weigh all that much.

Well, the days of Monkey napping in a carrier are long gone. But he’s still been riding in the soft sided style of carrier for outings/walks for a while. I usually wear him in the front though and wasn’t having much success with wearing him on my back.  I follow someone on instagram that posts pictures of her wearing her son in the back carry pretty much daily. Once I found out that she used a Boba 3G, I knew I had to try it out.

The second it arrived on my porch, I was so excited and popped Monkey on immediately. Monkey has since ridden on my back more times than I can count. I’ve worn him for an HOUR walk around my neighborhood, I’ve worn him while I vacuumed and mopped the house, and I wore him while he, the husband, and I all walked around the zoo. He loves it! I’ll admit that if I’m standing relatively still, doing something like cooking – he gets a bit fussy, but if I’m walking and moving around, he loves it. I feel like he can see great – and he loves playing with my hair…which isn’t such a good thing for me but eh, I’ll live.

I have also worn Monkey in the Boba 3G in a front carry as well and it works great! It’s very easy to adjust. I love this carrier. Oh! And remember those teething strap protectors (sucking pads) I reviewed a few weeks ago? They fit on this carrier as well! So, I can move them back and forth between my Boba and Ergo whenever I want. Or I suppose I could just purchase a second set, huh? :)

So, now that I mentioned the other carrier brand I have, I should probably do a little comparison. Honestly, I love both the Ergo and the Boba; however, I have found that while I like both for front carry, I prefer my Boba for the back carry. I just feel like it fits around Monkey a little more snugly. A few other things I like about my Boba 3G:
  • The chest/back strap (the one that clips either at your chest or across your back, depending on which carry you’re in) adjusts so easily. The straps just slide up and down the carrier – I find them slightly easier to adjust than the Ergo.
  • I love that the waste strap has two straps to adjust instead of just one that you pull – one on the right and one on the left. This way you get the perfect fit by pulling each strap. Since I’m a petite person this is great because I have to pull the straps pretty tight, and I don’t end up with one really long strap that gets in the way.
  • Foot rests! The Boba comes with foot rests. I haven’t tried these out yet, but I’m looking forward to it once Monkey is a bit older.

In short, I love my Boba and now that I have it, I can’t imagine life without it. It’s officially my go-to carrier for carrying Monkey on my back. I chose the original tweet design – and it is seriously so cute. They also offer lots of other great prints. If you’re thinking of trying one out for your little one, I highly recommend it – head on over to Boba and browse around. Check out the Boba Baby Carrier and the Boba Baby Wrap! Also be sure to follow Boba on Facebook and Twitter.

And, I saved the best news for last – if you purchase something from Boba before November 15th, 2012 – enter the discount code crunchywife10 for 10% off your order! Don’t forget, Christmas is right around the corner, too!
